NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – In a game that was closer than the final score would lead you to believe, the MCLA Men's Basketball team got back in the win column with an 83-73 victory over Elms College. Dylan Morris-Gray and Quentin Gittens each had a game-high 20 points in the win.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • MCLA got out to an early 11-point lead on the strength of a 16-5 run over the first seven and a half minutes. The lead would stay in that general vicinity until the Blazers closed out the second half with a 10-point run over their own in the final four minutes of the half to go to the locker room down by three points.
  • The second half started out as a back-and-forth affair with five ties and four lead changes. Elms College's Aaron Sanchez tied the game at 65 with about five and a half minutes left in regulation with an and one free throw following an acrobatic layup. From that point on though, the Trailblazers outscored the Blazers 18-8 to solidify the win. MCLA was 11-14 from the charity stripe following that 65-65 tie, including five of six free throws made by Dylan Morris-Gray.
  • Morris-Gray and Quentin Gittens each finished with a game-high 20 points. Gittens also collected 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.
  • MCLA's Hayden Morris-Gray scored 14 points on 5-9 shooting, including a 4-8 performance from beyond the three-point arc while JoJo Garcia contributed 10 points and three steals in 23 minutes off the bench.
  • Elms College's RJ Mayfield and Aaron Sanchez paced the Blazers with double-doubles of their own. Both pulled down 11 rebounds to go with 17 and 14 points, respectively.
  • Tahquell Cadle set the standard for the Blazers however with 19 points and three assists to go with a game-high four steals.
