Gittens Voted to MASCAC All-Conference First Team

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— For the second consecutive year Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) senior guard Quentin Gittens has earned a place on the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball All-Conference First Team. Gittens was also a member of the 2021-22 All-Conference Second Team.
Westfield State's Kenny Rogers Jr. and Worcester State's Brandon Goris were voted co-Players of the Year while Rogers Jr. also claimed Rookie of the Year. Fellow Owl Eric Johnson was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Gitttens led the Trailblazers in per game scoring, rebounding, assists and blocks and in conference play, averaged 17.4 points per game (6th) shooting 45.3% from the field including 50% from beyond the arc, 9 rebounds per game (4th) and 3.8 assists (4th).
Gittens had a season-high 32-point performance grabbing 15 rebounds for one of his five conference double-doubles in a late season home win over Salem State and also scored his 1,000th career-point in a nonconference victory over VTSU Lyndon in his first game of the season.
Along with Gittens, Rogers, Jr., Goris and Johnson, Salem State's Omri Merryman and Westfield State's Lid Moreland rounded out the 2024-25 All-Conference First Team.
On the Second Team are Josh Campbell and Dante Kikuba of Bridgewater State, Joshua Saint Jean of Framingham State, Nicholas Martinez and Tyrese Rho of Salem State.
Salem State's Chris Harvey was voted the 2024-25 BSN Sports Coach of the Year by his peers.
