Golf improves in second match as they compete in Brett Williamson Invitational

Westfield, MA- The MCLA Golf program competed in their second match of the season today at Tekoa Country Club.  The Trailblazers were part of the 11 team Brett Williamson Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.  The Trailblazers finished in tenth place.

The event was won by Eastern Connecticut University while Albertus Magnus' Ryan Sember took home medalist honors.

MCLA was paced by a pair of 84's shot by first year Paul Roeder and senior Brett Norman.  Roeder finished strong as he carded back to back birdies to close out his 84 while Norman included a birdie on the par 4, 14th hole to highlight his solid showing.  Roeder added another birdie on the par 5, fourteenth hole.  The rounds were good enough to T-22 in the event.

Kolby Clegg also improved off his opening day showing with a nice round of 86.  His day included two birdies, one on the par 5, seventh and the other on the par 3, sixteenth hole.

Damien Fiducia also competed today for MCLA to round out the scoring.

The Trailblazers are off until the MASCAC Championship, which they are hosting.  The event is scheduled for Monday/Tuesday, October 4-5 at Berkshire Hills Country Club.
