Gover’s 73 Leads Golf in Strong Showing at Tony Mariano Invitational

Barre, Vt.— MCLA sophomore Mat Gover shot an impressive two-over 73 today to take second place in Norwich University's Tony Mariano Invitational which was held at the Country Club of Barre. As a team, the Trailblazers had a strong showing finishing ten strokes of the pace to finish fourth.
Timothy Carleson of New England College edged out Gover shooting even par (71) to claim the individual title while Gordon College's 309 (+25) nipped NEC by a single stroke to capture the team championship.
MCLA had strong performances by Alex Ferris, Cody White and Easton Moore who each posted 82 while teammate Paul Roeder finished one back of the Trailblazer trio with an 83.
MCLA will wrap up its Northern Vermont swing this weekend at the two-round Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Club.
