Gover Collects First MASCAC Player of the Week Honors
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Last year's MASCAC Men's Golf Athlete and Rookie of the Year Mat Gover (Atkinson, NH) has claimed his first Athlete of the Week honors of the season. Springfield College sophomore Matthew Kumpulanian was named MASCAC Rookie of the Week.
Gover finished second shooting a two-over 73 with four birdies at Norwich University's Tony Mariano Invitational at the Country Club of Barre (Vermont) and finished tied for 13th place at the Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Club with a two-day total of 149 (76, 73) with six birdies on the weekend.
Gover and Trailblazers next host the MCLA Invitational on Wednesday at Waubeeka Golf Links in Williamstown.
