SOUTHWICK, Mass.— Posting the only two subpar rounds in the tournament, MCLA's Mat Gover (Atkinson, NH) made it back-to-back Individual MASCAC Championships this weekend at The Ranch Golf Club in Southwick (MA). The MCLA Golf team also matched last year's result in the team competition finishing second behind Salem State.

The now two-time MASCAC Champion Gover shot a pair of 71's (-2, 144) holding off Salem State's Daniel DiLisio (Swampscott, MA) who finished just three strokes off the pace (+1, 147). MCLA's Paul Roeder (Lanesborough, MA) finished in a three-way tie for eighth place (+15, 161).

MCLA's Cody White (Enfield, CT) and Easton Moore (Red Deer, AB) finished tied for 15th place while Alex Ferris (Enfield, CT) finished 28th.

The win was Gover's second of the season as the reigning MASCAC Player and Rookie of the Year took medalist honors in the MCLA Invitational earlier this month.

In the team competition MCLA (312, 315, +27) held a three-stroke lead following the completion of the first-round but Salem State (315, 304, +16) blitzed the field in the second-round coasting to an eight-stroke victory over the Trailblazers.

The MCLA Golf team will compete next in the two-round Skidmore Invitational on October 12th and 13th at Saratoga State Park.
