Salem State Slips Past Men’s Hockey, 3-2

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Men's Ice Hockey team welcomed the Salem State Vikings to the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink for a MASCAC matchup. Two second-period goals from Christopher Gallagher and Luke Rhoss sent them into the final period up 2-1. The Vikings rallied back with two goals in the third period, including a game-winner by Landyn Greatorex with just over ten minutes remaining.

  • Landyn Greatorex accounted for the only scoring in the first as his power-play goal gave Salem State a 1-0 lead. 
  • Sophomore forward Christopher Gallagher (Albany. NY / Islanders H.C.) tied the score for MCLA with a power play goal at 3:06 of the second.
  • Sophomore forward Luke Rhoss's (Monroe, NY / Philadelphia H.C.) unassisted tally just over a minute later gave the Trailblazers a 2-1 lead, which they carried into the third.
  • Keagan O'Donoghue re-tied the game with his seventh goal of the season 4:34 into the third.
  • Greatorex then connected for the eventual game-winner off an assist from James Tatro at 9:46 of the third.
