Gover named to MASCAC All-Conference Second Team

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— The MASCAC conference office today announced that sophomore goaltender Mathew Gover (Atkinson, N.H. / East Coast Wizards) has been named to the MASCAC All-Conference Second Team.
Salem State's Landyn Greatorex and James Tatro were named the Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year respectively. The Defensiver Player of the Year honor went to Anna Maria College's Derek Raposo. Salem State's Chris MacInnis was named the BSN Coach of the Year.
Gover was honored with his second MASCAC All-Conference Team appointment, having also been named to the second team in 2023-24. He started in all 28 of the Trailblazers' games this season, playing all but five minutes. The sophomore from Atkinson, N.H., led the MASCAC with 1106 saves. His 61 saves in MCLA's MASCAC playoffs semi-final against Anna Maria College was the fifth highest single-game total in division III hockey.
The sophomore backstop played a key role in a Cinderella run for the second-year program that saw them advance to the final round of the MASCAC Playoffs, including wins over the number one and two seeds in the matter of four days. Gover sported a .964 save percentage during that stretch and a 1.67 goals against average.
Joining Gover on the second team were Anna Maria College's Matthew Gilbert, Fitchburg State's Jack Johansen, Plymouth State's Ethan Stuckless and Severi Sulonen, and Salem State's Keagan O'Donoghue.
The first team consisted of Anna Maria's Raposo, Plymouth State's Will Redick and Rider McCallum, Salem State's Greatorex and Will Nepveu, and UMass-Dartmouth's Tyler Stewart.
