North Adams, MA— Hat tricks by Regis College's Nick Klein and Ryan Richardson helped lead the Pride to an 11-6 nonconference win this afternoon over MCLA. It was the season opener for Regis who improves to 1-0. With the loss the Trailblazers fall to 1-1.

Tied 2-2 after the first quarter, Richardson and Evan Azary would give Regis a two-goal lead midway through the second. However, a Nathan Haley goal with just 2.7 seconds left in the half would trim the Pride lead to 4-3 headed into the break.

As he had done to start the game, Boden Dock opened the second half up with an early goal and less than a minute later, Haley would strike again as well putting MCLA up 5-4 with 12:52 left in the third quarter.

The lead would be short-lived however as pair of Klein goals and one each by Richardson and Nate Arsenault would push the Pride to an 8-5 lead entering the fourth quarter.

After Haley's 3rd goal of the day made it 8-6 with just over eleven minutes left, Regis goalkeeper Robby Fuller would stand tall keeping the Trailblazers off the board the rest of the way.

Another Klein tally with 5:31 left would give the Pride all the insurance they needed making it 9-6. Regis would add two late goals to make the final 11-6.

Fuller made 9 saves earning his first win on the season to move to 1-0. MCLA's John Hankel stopped 17 Regis shots but falls to 1-1.

MCLA dominated the face-off circle (15-5) and collected more groundballs (37-29). Regis outshot the Trailblazers 41-36.

Both teams will be back in action this Wednesday as Regis travels to take on Mitchell College at 3pm, and MCLA hosts Eastern Nazarene at 4pm.
