Men's Lacrosse Falls to Husson in NAC Action

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The MCLA Lacrosse team welcomed Husson University to Shewcraft Field this afternoon for a North Atlantic Conference matchup with a playoff space on the line. Both the Trailblazers and the Eagles entered the game with matching 1-3 conference records and the winner this afternoon would secure the fourth and final spot in the NAC playoffs.

- Series History: Husson leads the all-time series 3-0, including a 17-10 win last season on April 27, 2024, in Bangor. Eagles also won the first-ever meeting of the teams 16-10 on April 16, 2022, in Bangor.
SENIOR DAY
- Before the game the Trailblazers recognized their senior class, a class of one. Nathan Haley graduated following the fall semester and was honored by coaches, teammates, family members, and fans for their time with lacrosse program. Although Nathan's time with the program may end, they will forever be a part of the MCLA family.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Husson took control early and did not relax their grip until the game was all but settled. At the end of the first quarter the Eagles held a 6-1 advantage and grew their lead to 14-3 at halftime. Kiernan Field scored six goals, all in the first half, for Husson. Anthony Andolina (Ballston Spa, NY) scored the Trailblazers' lone first quarter goal (4:13 remaining in the quarter, unassisted) as well as their first goal in the second quarter (11:52, unassisted), bringing his season total to 17 goals. Josh Hemstock (Amity, CT) added MCLA's other first half goal (8:35, assisted by Ashton Morris).
- The Eagles added three more goals to open the second half, working out to their largest lead of the day at 17-3. The Trailblazers would claw those three goals back, scoring two goals less than a minute apart. Jasper Priest (New Lebanon, NY) (9:56, unassisted) notched the first goal, and Neal Brierley (North Adams, MA) (9:03, unassisted) recorded his 21st of the year. Cameron LaFerriere (Pittsfield, MA) (0:03, Ty Roadcap) scored his fifth goal of the season just before the clock expired. The assist was the third of the year for Roadcap (Troy, NY).
- The teams would trade goals over the fourth quarter, with the Trailblazer goals going to Roadcap (11:42, unassisted), Priest (8:48, unassisted), and Hemstock (3:59, Andolina). Roadcap's was his sixth, Priest's was his second, and Hemstock's was his sixth.
- Husson's Kyle Plummer picked up the win to improve to 2-0. All three Eagle goalies finished the game with four saves on seven shots faced.
- MCLA's Hayden Schuler (North Towanda, NY) stopped 20 shots but took the loss to fall to 1-5.
