Men's soccer falls at Southern Vermont 2-0

Bennington, VT- The MCLA Men's Soccer team outshot Southern Vermont 20-10, however SVC found the net twice en route to a 2-0 win over the Trailblazers.  With the setback, MCLA falls to 4-8-1 and Southern Vermont improves to 9-4.

Southern Vermont jumped out quickly as Erik Argueta blasted a shot off of an MCLA defender in the 14th minute that found the net for a 1-0 lead.  The advantage held up into halftime.

The hosts would add to their lead at 53:08 when Ignacio Cervantes converted a penalty kick to up the margin to 2-0.  MCLA would outshoot the Mountaineers 14-6 in the second half, yet they came up empty in the end.

Shawn Willis took the loss for MCLA stopping three shots on the afternoon.  His counterpart, Connor Anniello denied 10 shots in the victory.

MCLA returns to conference play and Ron Shewcraft Field on Saturday when they host Fitchburg State at 1pm.
