Men's Soccer tripped up at SUNYIT 1-0

Utica, NY- The SUNYIT Men's Soccer team received a goal from Bryan Kilpatrick late in the opening half as they held off the MCLA Trailblazers 1-0 this afternoon.  With the win, the Wildcats improve to 5-5-2 while MCLA drops to 6-5 overall.

Kilpatrick's goal was his first of the season as SUNYIT controlled much of the play in the opening half as they outshot MCLA 8-2.  The Wildcats had a great chance to extend the lead in the 44th minute, but Vincent Seruhungu's shot hit the crossbar and the score remained 1-0 at the half.

MCLA was a bit more balanced in the second half as they mustered 7 shots in the period, however they couldn't push the equalizer past Wildcat keeper Jesse Yanarella.  SUNYIT held a slim 8-7 shot edge over the closing 45 minutes.

Yanarella stopped seven shots to pick up the win in net for SUNYIT.  Matt Robinson absorbed the loss for MCLA collecting five saves in the match.

The Trailblazers will return to the pitch on Saturday when they host MASCAC foe Framingham State at Shewcraft Field.  Game time is 1pm.
