MCLA suffers final minute setback against Mount Saint Vincent 3-2

North Adams, MA- Pablo Tellez scored with just 26 seconds remaining to lift the visiting Mount Saint Vincent men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over the MCLA Trailblazers today at Shewcraft field.  With the win, the Dolphins crawl above .500 and stand at 7-6-2 while the Trailblazers drop their third straight in falling to 2-7-2 overall.

The visitors jumped out fast as they sprinted out to an early 2-0 advantage.  Joseph Llamuca tallied just 1:14 into the game as he converted a Jair Magallan feed that stunned the home team.  CMSV would add another goal in the 17th minute when Kevin Jardines scored a highlight goal.  Jardines took a Tellez cross towards the top of the box and scissor kicked the ball into the left corner beating MCLA's Kamron Anderson for an early 2-0 lead.

The Trailblazers would rally though over the final 12 minutes of play in the first half.  Leading scorer Anthony Basile notched his 8th goal of the season in the 33rd minute to slice the lead in half.  Dylan Pereira took a corner kick and passed short to Tyler Vona who sent a cross to Basile and his header found the net and in effect changed momentum.

In the 43rd minute, the Trailblazers would even the score on Christopher Valente's first goal of the season.  He belted home a loose ball off a Sakan Sadowsky cross to even the score heading into halftime.

The visitors controlled much of the opening half and outshot MCLA 16-8 in the period, however the closing half was a different story.  The Trailblazers held a decisive 14-5 shot advantage over the final 45 minutes, however neither side could net the equalizer until Tellez' marker in the closing seconds.

After an MCLA attack, the Dolphins quickly countered and Jardines sent a through ball that put Tellez in against Anderson.  He took a touch to the right and tapped the ball into the open net in essence giving the Dolphins the victory.

David Melchor earned the win in goal for the Dolphins as he played the second half and stopped all 4 shots he saw.  Rich Diodati played the first half and collected 3 saves.

Anderson stopped 6 shots for MCLA in a losing effort.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they host Massachusetts Maritime Academy at 1pm at Shewcraft Field.
