Men's Soccer shutout at home by nationally ranked Montclair State

North Adams, MA- The #9 ranked Montclair State Men's Soccer team received goals from six different players as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 6-0 this afternoon in non conference soccer action.  With the win, the Red Hawks improve to 15-2 while the Trailblazers drop to 3-8-2.

Montclair wasted little time in asserting their powerful offense as Aaron Rose tallied just 4:59 in to the game when he knocked home a thru pass from Rafael Terci for an early 1-0 lead.  In the 18th minute, Matt Hendricksen dribbled through the MCLA defense and ripped a shot inside the box that made it 2-0 and sent the Red Hawks on their way.

Terci would tally in the 22nd minute when he headed home a Rose cross making it 3-0.  MSU would tally twice more before halftime as Kyle Goodwin and Kevin Simek scored in the 34th and 37th minute respectively to close the half.  MSU outshot MCLA 20-0 in the opening forty five minutes of play.

MCLA kept the Red Hawks off the scoreboard for much of the second half until Kazari Trought corralled another Terci cross and headed it home in the 89th minute to round out the scoring.

MSU's Mike Saalfrank earned the win although he never was challenged.  Michael Gonzalez played the second half in goal.

Kamron Anderson absorbed the setback for MCLA and Andrew Haier played the final 45 minutes stopping 3 shots.

MCLA will resume MASCAC play on Saturday when they host Senior Day at Shewcraft Field against Fitchburg State with kickoff set for 1pm.
