Men's Soccer places three on All MASCAC team

2015 Men's Soccer All MASCAC Release

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Men's Soccer placed three players on the All Conference team that was announced this afternoon.  Trailblazers' Edward Boateng and Dylan Pereira were named first team mid fielders, while Anthony Basile was a second team selection as a forward.

Connor Murtagh of Bridgewater State was the MASCAC player of the year, while Brendan Adams of BSU was tabbed by his peers as the coach of the year.  Bryan Brasil of Worcester State was selected as the conference's rookie of the year.

All three MCLA players were an integral part of the Trailblazer offense in 2015.  Boateng was a facilitator on offense collecting a team best 6 assists and also scored a goal.  His flashy style created scoring opportunities for Pereira and Basile among others.  He started 12 games and played in all 17 contests for MCLA.  The honor marks the second time Boateng has made the All MASCAC team.

Pereira was selected for the third consecutive season in a Trailblazer uniform.  He was second on the team with 5 goals and 3 assists for 13 points.  Two of his goals were game winners for MCLA.  He started 13 games for the Trailblazers and played in all but one game.

Basile was a second team selection as a forward after tallying a team best 10 goals and an assist for 21 points.  The physical forward scored a pair of game winning goals and was tough to handle up top.  It's the second such honor for Basile as he completed his second season in a Trailblazer uniform.

MCLA ended the season with a 5-9-3 mark and was eliminated from the conference playoffs on penalty kicks by Worcester State yesterday.
