BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Freshman Issa Jalloh's (Lynn, Mass.) goal with just over 11 minutes remaining lifted MCLA to a 1-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Jalloh converted a pass from senior Edward Boateng (Worcester, Mass.) and broke in from the left side to notch his second goal of the season for the visiting Trailblazers (7-5-1, 3-1-1 MASCAC), who are now even atop the league standings with the host Buccaneers (6-6-1, 3-1-1 MASCAC) with 10 points each.

Junior Kamron Anderson (Springfield, Mass.) took care of the rest in net for MCLA, as he made nine saves (five in the second half) to record his seventh win and fourth shutout of the season.

Junior Mike Pruchnik (Rochester, Mass.) also made nine stops in goal in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, as the Trailblazers outshot the Buccaneers by a 16-12 margin overall (10-9 on goal) but the hosts held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to New London, Conn. on Tuesday evening to take on Coast Guard in a non-league clash beginning at 7:00 p.m., while MCLA will be idle until next Saturday, October 22nd when the Trailblazers travel to Fitchburg, Mass. for a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing with Fitchburg State that begins at Noon.
