Men’s Soccer falls to Union 3-1

Schenectady, NY- Union College used three different goal scorers and had five total players tally a point in a 3-1 nonconference decision over MCLA this evening at College Park Field. With the win Union improves to 2-2-1. MCLA falls to 3-4 on the season.

Union's senior forward Nate Boule (Plattsburgh, NY) would score his first goal of the season in the 40th minute to give the Dutchmen a 1-0 advantage going into the half. Not long into second half in the 51st minute, junior Robbie Michalski (East Longmeadow, MA) would score to push the lead to 2-0.

In the 74th minute first year Justice Daniels (Pittsfield, MA) found the back of the net scoring his first career goal from classmate Thomas Hickey (Mechanicville, NY) cutting the lead Union lead to 2-1. 

However, in the 81st minute junior Luca Richo (Medellin, Columbia) would score his first goal of the season to put the game away for Union 3-1.

The Dutchmen outshot the Trailblazers 20-4 and enjoyed a 9-0 advantage in corners.

Union junior keeper Sean Speck (Burnt Hills, NY) made 2 save in the win and improves to 2-2-1. MCLA senior keeper Sam Edge (Williamstown, MA) would play the first half and make 3 saves. Sophomore Ryan Taylor (Plattsburgh, NY) would finish the contest making 4 saves in the loss and drops to 1-1.

Union will next host St. Lawrence this Saturday at 3pm.

MCLA travels to Westfield State this Saturday for an 11am start.
