Men’s Soccer Falls at Framingham 2-0 in MASCAC Opener

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.— The MCLA Men's Soccer team fell 2-0 today in their MASCAC season opening match to Framingham State at Maple Street Field. The Rams improve to 4-1 (1-0 MASCAC) on the season while the Trailblazers fall to 2-3 (0-1 MASCAC).

Framingham State's Gustav Hemmingsen factored in both goals today assisting on John Holt's first tally of the season in the 31st minute and later scoring his third goal of the year to put the Rams up 2-0 in the 41st minute.

Though Framingham State outshot MCLA 21-15, shots on goal were at a premium with Rams goalie Joseph Sturzo (W, 4-1) only forced to make two saves in the shutout win and Trailblazers keeper Ryan Taylor (L, 1-3) stopping four of Framingham attempts on net in the loss.

The Rams will next host Gordon on Tuesday at 4:30pm while the Trailblazers are off until Friday when they host MASCAC rival Mass Maritime at 6pm.
