Griffith, Smith Earn MASCAC All-Conference Second Team Honors

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA midfielder Traizen Griffith (Enfield, CT) and defender Michael Smith (Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY) have been named to the 2024 MASCAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Second Team as announced by the league earlier today.
Salem State senior forward Vanilton Xavier (Brockton, MA) and Fitchburg State junior defender Zachariah Foster (Worcester, MA) were named Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. Rookie of the Year honors went to Fitchburg State junior midfielder Justin Job (Worcester, MA). Bridgewater State's Brendan Adams was selected as Coach of the Year.
Griffith led the MASCAC in total points with 19 and finished second in the league with 7 goals. Smith started all 17 games for MCLA and was a stalwart in the Trailblazers backline all season.
Joining Griffith and Smith on the second team were Bridgewater State's Nicolas Matias, Filippo Mucci, and Lukas Ekmanis, Framingham State's Kaio Santos Da Silva, Westfield State's Sonny Mazza and Charlie Anischik, Fitchburg State's Anthony Oliveira-Dalicandro and Joao Pedro Goncalves, and Mass Maritime's Ethan Somers.
Bridgewater State's Tyler Chang, Nicholas Ribeiro, Hector Bucio, and Gavin Norton, Fitchburg State's Justin Job and Zachariah Foster, Salem State's Stephane Fevry, Vanilton Xavier, and James Meli, Mass Maritime's Brody Calvert, Worcester State's Mal Hawkins, and Westfield State's Luke Theroux were all named to the first team.
