MCLA falls to Western New England in Men's Tennis home opener
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Men's Tennis team dropped their home opener to visiting Western New England University 9-0 this afternoon at Zavattaro Athletic complex. With the loss, the Trailblazers fall to 1-3 on the season.
Today's match marked the return of the Men's Tennis program to the MCLA courts. The Trailblazers restarted their program this season after a long layoff.
MCLA's Taylor Krowitz put forth a solid effort in the number two singles slot, eventually falling to WNE's Jon Paul Quellette in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). Chris Holzingen topped MCLA's Daniel Nesti in the number one singles slot 6-0, 6-3. Holzingen also added a point in doubles, teaming with Pete LeFrancious for an 8-0 victory.
LeFrancious, Shawn Fitzpatrick, and Holzingen won dual points for WNE.
