Tennis blanked by WNE 9-0

Pittsfield, MA- The visiting Western New England Men's Tennis program rolled past the MCLA Trailblazers 9-0 this afternoon in a match played at Berkshire West Athletic Center in Pittsfield.  The Golden Bears improve to 5-1 on the season while MCLA is still in search of their first win as they are 0-2.

The visitors didn't drop a set all afternoon in cruising to victory.  They swept through the doubles matches as Andres Otero and Justin Kohut won 8-2 over Rob Wabshinak and Aaron Goldsmith in the top slot.  The duo of Alexander Sause and Chris Spear defeated Richard LaRocque and Michael Rooney 8-3 in second doubles.  Nick Raschilla and Drew Berg breezed past Jeff Mason and Jared Freeman 8-1 in the third doubles slot.

Otero bested Goldsmith again in the top singles match 6-1, 6-2 while Souse defeated Wabshinak by the same score.  Spear was dominant in his match winning 6-0, 6-0 against LaRocque, while Kahut, Michael Tran, and Kevin Yawgel each earned points to round out the scoring.

MCLA is back in action on Thursday when they host Rhode Island College at 3:30pm.
