Mixed Tennis falls to Thomas in NAC matchup 8-1

Waterville, ME- The Thomas College men's tennis program breezed past the MCLA Trailblazers 8-1 this afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup.  The Terriers improve to 3-3 on the season while MCLA falls to 2-3 overall.  The match marked the first conference tilt for each program.

The Terriers easily took home all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 advantage.  Kaleb Payson and Ryan Chasse defeated Charles Najimy and Matt Bluteau 8-0 in the top slot.  Yontz Sutton and Jared Waterhouse earned a point with a win over Nick Castle and Sam Gawron with an 8-1 win.  Jose Afonso and Christo Naranja earned their point with an 8-1 win over Briana Higgins and Mackenna Jordan.

In singles, the Terriers continued to cruise.  The top five singles matches were won in straight sets as Chasse, Payson, Waterhouse, Sutton, and Afonso each earned their second point of the night.  

MCLA's Mohamed Mahrous earned the Trailblazers lone point with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Jason Hamilton to round out the scoring.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Tuesday when they head to Rhode Island College for a non league matchup with the Anchormen.
