Ameen and Koumjian; All-MASCAC

Buzzards Bay, Mass. - MCLA placed two Trailblazers on the 2009 MASCAC All-Conference Teams  as the announcement was made over the weekend.

First-year pitcher Hadley Ameen (North Adams, MA) was named second team all conference pitcher. Ameen pitched 123 innings in 28 appearances and struck out 70 opponants for the Trailblazers who finished 10-24 and fourth in the conference.

Classmate, Kayla Koumjian (Watervliet, NY) was named to the second team as a utility player. She split time as the Trailblazers catcher and designated player. Koumjian finished her first year batting .302 with 13 runs batted in.

Now celebrating its 38th year, the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference is comprised of eight NCAA Division III member institutions: Bridgewater State College, Fitchburg State College, Framingham State College, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State College, Westfield State College and Worcester State College.
