MCLA sweeps season opening indoor DH vs. Lyndon State
Glens Falls, NY- The MCLA Trailblazers softball team opened up their 2013 season with a rare indoor doubleheader at the Glens Falls Sports Dome. The local nine came away with a pair of victories over the Lyndon State Hornets, winning a slugfest 12-11 in the opener, before securing a 6-1 win in the nightcap. The games marked the openers for both teams.
In game one of the double header Kendra Hobbs, Angelica Perfido and Michela DiNicola all went 3 for 5. Hobbs homered on the afternoon. Rayelle Pierson picked up the win on the afternoon pitching 3 innings giving up one run.
In game two Megan Boyer went 2 for 3. Amanda Meczywor controlled the game in the circle picking up the win and helping herself on offense going 3 for 4.
MCLA will be back in action when they travel south taking part in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. They will play a series of 10 games from March 8-14.
