MCLA drops pair of afternoon games falling to 3-5

Fort Myers, FL- The MCLA Trailblazers couldn't get the bats rolling today and fell to St.Joseph-Maine in their first game today 7-1 before falling to Wooster on a mercy rule decision 11-0.

MCLA got on the scoreboard quickly in the first inning against the Monks when Kendra Hobbs walked, took second on a ground ball by Amanda Meczywor and then rounded the bases to home on an error by the third baseman. That was MCLA's only run of the game and of the day.

On the defensive side the Trailblazers just couldn't get it done giving up seven runs on five hits and three errors, while walking six batters.

Freshman Tanelle Ciempa had a hot bat at the plate today, reaching base three times with a double and two singles.

In the second game the Trailblazers couldn't get any runners past second base. Wooster pitcher Gina Pirolozzi held MCLA to three singles.

MCLA dug themselves deep giving up nine runs after three innings. Wooster was led offensively by Demi Hart who was 3-4 and had 4 RBI's.

The Trailblazers now fall to 3-5 and will take tomorrow off and return to the field on Tuesday when they play at 9 and 11.
