Teta named second team All MASCAC in Softball

2022 All MASCAC Softball Team

North Adams, MA-- MCLA junior outfielder Madison Teta has been selected to the All MASCAC Second Team after a solid season for the Trailblazers.  The honors were announced this afternoon by the league offices.  Bridgewater State's Alexandra Ruprecht and Worcester State's Emily Barlett have been named the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Year and head up the all-conference squad which is voted on by the coaches from around the conference.  Emma Lanpher of Bridgewater State is the 2022 MASCAC Softball Rookie of the Year.  Keri Bianchini of Worcester State is the 2022 Champion's Choice Coach of the Year.

Teta was a bright spot for the Trailblazers all season long.  The left handed speedster led the league in hitting as she ended the year batting .467.  She concluded the season with 32 runs (fifth in the conference) and 10 RBI's.  Batting out of the leadoff position for head coach Adriane Baird, Teta was a threat on the bases all season long.  She set a school record for stolen bases with 34, which also led the conference.

She saved her best for last hitting in 13 straight contests.  Over that span, she had nine multi-hit games.  Over an eight game stretch, Teta went 18-27 for an average of .667 during that span.

Defensively, Teta was equally as impressive.  She would routinely run down balls in centerfield and will be a mainstay for years to come.

The honor is the first for Teta as a Trailblazer.

Joining Ruprecht and Bartlett on the first team are Bridgewater State's Madison Dana and Kelley Reichert, Fitchburg State's Julia Gauvin, Molly Grass and Audrey Johnson, Framingham State's Brooke Grassia and Ally Moran, Westfield State's Christina Ciampa, Colleen Hughes and Lindsay Cordopatri and Worcester State's Rachel Sinclair.

Grabing a spot on the MASCAC second team all-conference are Bridgewater State's Emma Healy, Megan Sharon and Madison Synan, Fitchburg State's Sarah Cahill and Dana Cisowski, Framingham State's Camille Desrochers, Mercedes Jimenez and Shelby Roode, MCLA's Teta, Westfield State's Megan Metzger and Stephanie Scoville and Worcester State's Lauren Dube and Abigail Koziol.
