Pingelski's huge second half lifts Women's Basketball to first win, 65-46 over Cobleskill

Cobleskill, NY- MCLA senior Courtney Pingelski scored 21 of her game best 23 points in the pivotal second half as the Trailblazers pulled away from host Cobleskill 65-46 in women's basketball action.  The Trailblazers improve to 1-1 on the early season while the Fighting Tigers dip to 0-2.

Pingelski was assessed a pair of fouls in the first quarter and scored just two points, but MCLA led 26-23 at halftime.  Mckenzie Robinson collected 10 first half points to lead MCLA in Pingelski's absence.

Coming out of the locker room, the Trailblazers never looked back behind the scoring of Pingelski and her fellow seniors.  Pingelski netted 14 points in the third quarter alone, outscoring Cobleskill by herself, as MCLA moved out to a 46- 34 lead heading to the fourth quarter.

MCLA was never threatened from there as they cruised to the victory as Pingelski added 7 more points in the closing quarter to help MCLA pull away.

Pingelski went 5-8 from the floor including a 3-5 showing from three point land.  She went a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line and matched Gawron's 9 rebounds.

MCLA overcame a 32% shooting night and 20 turnovers in the win.

Cobleskill was paced by Addy Lawson's 10 points and 9 rebounds off the bench.
