Pingelski earns MASCAC player of the week honors
North Adams, MA- MCLA senior forward Courtney Pingelski (Mechanicville, NY) has been named the MASCAC player of the week. The award is sponsored by GEICO. Pingelski was joined on the weekly release with Westfield State's Siobhan Moriarty, who took home the conference's rookie of the week.
The honor marks the first for Pingelski in a Trailblazer uniform.
Pingelski averaged 17 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 50 percent from the floor (9-18) and 92 percent (11-12) from the free throw line in a 2-0 week for the Trailblazers. Scored a season-high 23 points with nine rebounds while going 10-for-10 from the free throw line in the 65-46 win over SUNY-Cobleskill. She would follow that up with a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds while adding four assists in the 67-59 win over Keene State College on Saturday.
The senior was outstanding down the stretch in both games to help MCLA win two straight after an opening loss to Springfield. Pingelski is currently averaging 13 ppg and will look to continue her hot start tomorrow night when MCLA plays host to Mount Holyoke at 6pm.
