MCLA places four in double figures in 63-37 win over Mount Holyoke

North Adams, MA- The MCLA women's basketball team placed four players in double figures and forced 30 turnovers as they won their third straight contest with a convincing 63-37 win over Mount Holyoke this evening in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.  The Trailblazers are now 3-1 on the season while the Lyons fall to 0-6 overall.

MCLA outscored Mount Holyoke in every quarter and were paced by Kylah Langston's 14 point effort.  She also filled the stat sheet with 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 3 assists.  Sam Gawron added 12 points for the Trailblazers and 9 rebounds.  Emily Burke had the best game of her young career with an 11 point night while Courtney Pingelski chipped in with 10 points.

MCLA led just 15-10 after one quarter of play, but extended out to a sizable 36-24 lead at halftime.  The Trailblazer offense woke up in the third quarter as they pushed the lead to 18 heading to the home fourth.  The MCLA defense allowed just four points over the final ten minutes of play to cruise to the victory.

The Lyons were paced by Leah Hodges game best 16 point night.  She added 10 rebounds to complete the double double.  She was the only Lyon in double figures.

Mount Holyoke struggled on offense with their 30 turnovers,  but also shot just 29% in the contest, including just 17% over the final twenty minutes of action.

MCLA is off through the Thanksgiving holiday and returns to action next Tuesday when they host Middlebury at 6pm.
