Bertrand Chosen as ECHA Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week

NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) first year forward, Carlen Bertrand (Timmins, Ontario/Sudbury Wolves) has been named as the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Alliance (ECHA) Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Week.

Rivier University's Rebecca McKelvey (Barre, Vermont/Vermont Shamrocks) earned EHCA Rookie of the Week and teammate Rachel Symmes (Chugiak, Alaska/Alaska All-Stars) was selected as Goaltender of the Week.

Bertrand made history for the Trailblazers as she recorded the first goal in program history. The mark came on the road at the Toyota Sportsplex versus the Colonels of Wilkes University. Bertrand also registered an even plus/minus rating on the weekend.

Bertrand and the Trailblazers will next take to the ice on Friday hosting Hilbert College at 6pm in MCLA's first ever home Women's Ice hockey game.
