MCLA's Juliette Barney named ECHA Goalie of the Week
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— Junior goalie Juliette Barney (Braintree, MA / Anna Maria College) has been named the ECHA Goalie of the Week. Rivier's Brianna Paxson (Eagle River, AK / Little Caesars Hockey Club) and Rachel Symmes (Chugiak, AK / Alaska All-Stars) were named the Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Barney picks up goaltender of the week honors with a 60-save performance versus the Bison of Nichols College. The 60-save outing was a career-high for the netminder. Barney wrapped the contest with a .968 SV%, a school-record performance for the Trailblazers. Barney and the Trailblazers are back in action this Friday when they open a home-and-home series with a game at New England College at the Lee Clement Arena, followed by a game at the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink on Saturday. The puck drops at 6 PM Friday and 7 PM Saturday.
