Barney Selected as MASCAC Goalie of the Week
NORTH ADAMS, Mass.— MCLA's Juliette Barney (Braintree, MA) has been selected as the MASCAC (Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference) Women's Ice Hockey Goalie of the Week as announced by the league earlier today. Barney is joined by Rivier University's Brianna Parent (Saint Albans, VT) and Keegan McGaheran (Potsdam, NY) who were chosen as the Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Barney, who last season was selected as both a Goalie and Player of the Week award winner by the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association (EHCA), turned in a 38 save shutout performance in MCLA's 7-0 nonconference victory at Hilbert College last weekend.
Barney and the Trailblazers will next host Framingham State this Saturday at 5pm at the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink. The contest will be the first-ever MASCAC game for MCLA.
