WORCESTER, Mass. – Fresh off the snapping of their five-game season-opening win streak at Williams College on Tuesday, the MCLA Women's Ice Hockey Team traveled to Worcester State for their first MASCAC road game at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center.

  • Series History: Worcester State leads the all-time series 5-0-0, including a 6-0 win in Worcester in the ECHA playoffs last season on February 23, 2024. The Lancers also took the teams' first-ever meeting by a score of 6-0 on November 17, 2023, in North Adams.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Worcester State lit the lamp one time in each period to deal MCLA their first conference loss of the year. The goals were scored by Cailey Ryan (3:38 of the first period, assisted by Emily Johns), Lea Gaspar (1:00 of the second period, Johns and Amy MacGlashing), and Kelly Lovett (1:55 of the third period, Avery Ireland).
  • Lana Pacific stopped all 25 shots she faced to keep a clean sheet to pick up her first win of the season, improving to 1-2-0. Sophomore goalie Kaitlyn O'Brien (Ridley Park, PA / Philadelphia Jr. Flyers) turned away 30 shots but still suffered the tough luck loss, falling to 2-1-0 for the year.
