Women’s Hockey Shut Out by Worcester State, 2-0

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Following an hour-long delay due to travel issues for the visitors, the MCLA Women's Ice Hockey team welcomed the Worcester State Lancers to the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Rink for a MASCAC matchup. Kaitlyn O'Brien picked up 40 saves for MCLA, but goals from Kate Harrison and Avery Ireland powered Worcester past the Trailblazers.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
- Following a scoreless first period, the Lancers were the first ones on the scoreboard when Kate Harrison (at 7:16, assisted by Emily Curran) scored her first goal of the year a bit after seven minutes into the second frame.
- Worcester State doubled their lead in the third period when Avery Ireland (14:51, Madelyn Franta) knocked home an insurance goal with just over five minutes to play.
- The Lancers' Lana Pacific picked up the win to even her record at 3-3-0 after stopping all 17 shots she faced.
- For MCLA, sophomore goalie Kaitlyn O'Brien (Ridley Park, PA / Philadelphia Jr. Flyers) did yeoman's work, recording her second 40-save performance of the season, finishing with 40 saves on 42 shots. O'Brien's record dropped to 4-4-0.
