Lacrosse falls at home to BSU 19-4

North Adams, MA- The visiting Bridgewater State University Women's Lacrosse team scored the game's first 13 goals as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 19-4 this afternoon at Shewcraft Field.  With the win, the Bears improve to 7-4 overall and are unbeaten in MASCAC play at 3-0.  MCLA is now 3-7 and 0-3 in the conference.

Eight different Bears got into the scoring column during the opening fleury as they led 2-0 after just two minutes of play after goals from Brooke Buckner and Marissa Yowell.  The Bears would tack on three more markers with 22 minutes to play in the half as Melissa Renauld, Lauren Geary, and Elizabeth Ettridge would all score making it 5-0.

After the Bears continued to control play, they eventually led 13-0 until MCLA's Natalie Caney would score just before halftime making it 13-1.

The Bears outshot MCLA 22-1 in the half.

Caney would score two of the first three second half goals, however the Bears would ultimately score the next five to put the game completely out of reach.

For the game, the Bears would own a 33-7 shot edge and 16-7 in draw controls.

Geary, Yowell, and Ettridge all ended with three goals for BSU while Alex King added a game best 5 assists.  

The strong offensive showing made a winner out of Allie Forman who stopped 3 shots on the afternoon.

Zoe Elwell took the loss for MCLA collecting 8 saves.  Caney would score all four goals for the Trailblazers.

MCLA is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Worcester State.
