MCLA remains atop MASCAC following 0-0 Tie at Westfield

Westfield, MA- The MCLA Women's Soccer Team traveled to conference rival Westfield State and earned a key point in a 0-0 double overtime tie.  The Trailblazers are now alone atop the conference standings heading into their final MASCAC game next Saturday at Bridgewater.

With the tie, MCLA is now 9-2-4 overall while sporting a 4-0-2 record in the conference.  A win next weekend would earn MCLA the regular season conference title and the upcoming tournament top seed.  Westfield and Worcester each have identical 3-1-2 MASCAC marks, good for second place.

Westfield State University and MCLA played to a 0-0 scoreless deadlock in a key Massachusetts State College Athletics Conference women's soccer game on Saturday evening, Oct. 23.

The Owls had a decisive edge over the Trailblazers in shots (26-7) and corner kicks (12-1). MCLA keeper Jen Wehner recorded eight saves and Westfield goalie Jess Habif registered five saves.

MCLA will return to action on Wednesday when they host Sage College before traveling to Bridgewater for the season finale on Saturday.
