MCLA Women boot Mass. Maritime 2-0
North Adams, MA- MCLA recieved goals from Christina Klich and Bri Bresett en route to a 2-0 victory over Mass. Maritime Academy this afternoon at Shewcraft Field. MCLA improves to 3-5-1 on the season, including a 1-1-1 mark in the MASCAC. MMA falls to 1-7 overall, 0-3 in the league.
The match was scoreless into the 42nd minute when Bresett would tally following a long ball from Lauren Ford. Bresett beat the defense to the ball and beat MMA keeper Emily Welsh for a 1-0 lead. The Trailblazers would take that edge in the half.
MCLA would put the game away when Klich scored off another long pass, this one from Jackie Nash, in the 84th minute stretching the lead to 2-0. MMA wouldn't threaten the rest of the way.
Jen Wehner earned the win in goal for the Trailblazers stopping one shot in the opening half. Danielle Heinsohn started the second half and was untested. Welsh would stop 8 shots for the Buccaneers.
On the afternoon, MCLA outshot MMA 23-4.
