Trailblazer women fall on the road to UMass-Boston

Boston, MA- The MCLA Women's Soccer team dropped their season opener at UMass Boston this afternoon 6-1.  Keshia Devoe tallied the lone marker for MCLA who is now 0-1.  The match was the opener for the Beacons as they now stand at 1-0.

Krista Ledin finished with a hat trick while also adding two assists.  Teammate Tayla Andrews also had a hat trick and an assist.

Ledin wasted little time to get going as she tallied in the 11th minute to give UMass the lead.  She would quickly add two more first half goals as the Beacons sprinted out to a 3-0 advantage. 

Andrews added her first goal putting UMass up 4-0 before Devoe countered for MCLA as the Beacons led 4-1 at halftime.

Andrews added her second marker off an assist from Julie Nutting before finishing the hat trick in the 71st minute to provide the final margin.

MCLA will return to campus and play host to Smith Colllege on Tuesday at Shewcraft Field.  Kick off is scheduled for 1pm.
