Women's Soccer gets back on track in 4-0 rout of ACP

Albany, NY- Led by pair of goals by Keshia Devoe and a four point effort from Lindsay Borbolla, the MCLA Women's soccer team easily defeated Albany College of Pharmacy this afternoon.  The Trailblazers are now 2-4 overall, while ACP drops to 4-3 on the season.

Devoe started the scoring fast as she tallied just 65 seconds into the contest after stealing the ball deep in the ACP end of the field.  The steal led to a short breakaway and MCLA had a 1-0 lead.  The margin stayed that way into halftime as the Trailblazers outshot ACP 9-6 in the opening period.

What was a close game quickly turned in MCLA's favor when Borbolla got on the board in the 54th minute.  Her score was assisted by Ashlee Scofield and Jennifer Ferrari as they each took a quick touch before Borbolla found the net.

Scofield notched her first marker of the season off a Borbolla feed giving MCLA an insurmountable 3-0 lead.  Devoe closed out the scoring as she took another Borbolla pass in the 87th minute and beat Alexandra Weston for the final margin.

Danielle Heinsohn earned her first career shutout as she stopped seven shots in earning the win.

MCLA will face Massachusetts Maritime on Saturday at 4:30pm
