Trailblazer Women shutout at Bard in Women's Soccer

Annandale on Hudson, NY- The MCLA Women's Soccer team surrendered a pair of first half goals that proved too difficult to overcome as they fell to Bard College 2-0 this afternoon.  MCLA falls to 3-5 while the Raptors improve to 4-5 overall.

Bard's Alana Shaw took an Abbey Labrecque cross in the 12th minute to put the Raptors on top 1-0 early on.  Just four minutes later, Maddy Huggins would connect on her fifth goal of the season, taking a cross from Sylvia Kool to beat MCLA keeper Danielle Heinsohn.

MCLA couldn't muster much offense all afternoon.  The Trailblazers were outshot 29-3 on the afternoon, including 17-1 in the opening period.  Bard also held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

Heinsohn absorbed the loss stopping 13 shots in defeat.  Bard's Lena James earned the shutout stopping all three shots she faced.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Framingham to face the Rams at 4pm.
