MCLA Women blanked by Westfield State

Westfield, MA-  The MCLA Women's Soccer team traveled to MASCAC rival Westfield State this evening.  The Trailblazers were blanked by the Owls 4-0.  With the loss, MCLA is now 5-8 overall while sporting a 2-3 conference mark.  Westfield remains perfect on the season at 13-0-1, 5-0 in conference play.

Westfield took an early 2-0 lead in the opening period and never looked back.  The Owls' Ashley Bovat scored off an Ashleigh Chretian feed in the 8th minute for his first marker of the season.  Kayley Miller would then convert a Melissa Kulik pass for the 2-0 advantage.

Westfield would put to rest any hopes of a Trailblazer comeback early in the second half scoring twice in the opening 2:18.  Brittanie McGregor tallied ahead of Chretian's goal to post a commanding 4-0 lead.  The Owls were never threatened from there.

Westfield owned a commanding 23-4 shot advantage, including 17-0 in the opening half.

Danielle Heinsohn stopped 8 shots in the loss for MCLA.  Jess Habif earned the win for the Owls.
