Women's Soccer drops 1-0 decision to Albertus Magnus

New Haven, CT- The MCLA Women's Soccer team surrendered a penalty kick goal in the first half and couldn't push across the equalizer as they fell to Albertus Magnus 1-0 this afternoon.  Albertus moves to 2-1 on the season, while the Trailblazers fall to 1-2 overall.

After a scoreless opening twenty three minutes, Albertus finally broke through.  While pressuring the Trailblazers, MCLA was called for a foul in the box.  Amanda Roke would take the ensuing penalty kick and drive it past MCLA net minder Danielle Heinsohn for a 1-0 advantage.

The Trailblazers had chances in the second half as they got off five shots, however Albertus' Maria Case stopped six shots to preserve the shutout victory.  MCLA didn't get a shot off in the final nine minutes of action.

Heinsohn stopped six shots for MCLA.  Albertus held a slim 14-12 shot advantage on the afternoon and a 5-2 mark in corner kicks.

The Trailblazers will return home on Wednesday when they host Castleton State at 4pm.
