Kelsey Marini leads Trailblazers to victory
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Trailblazers beat visiting Elms College this afternoon 1-0. With the win the Trailblazers improve to 2-3 and the Blazers of Elms fall to 1-3.
Kelsey Marini put the Trailblazers ahead in the 64th minute. Marini received a ball back from Katlyn Brown. Marini from 40 yards out took a shot and beat Elms keeper Erika Aponte in the top right corner.
Elms College had a chance to take the lead right off the back in the first half. but Melissa Welch's shot went wide of the goal. About two minutes later Michelle Rossignol took another shot that went just high of the cross bar.
MCLA outshot the Blazers 15-5 on the afternoon and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
MCLA will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Albany College of Pharmacy. Elms will return home as they take on Smith College.
