Women's Soccer falls to front running Framingham 4-1

North Adams, MA- The Framingham State Rams used a strong defensive effort in the second half and got a pair of goals and an assist from Kayla Austin to pull away from MCLA 4-1 in Women's Soccer action at Shewcraft Field.  The Rams improve to 8-1-1 overall and remain unbeaten in MASCAC play at 3-0-1.  MCLA falls to 5-8 overall and 1-3 in league play.

The first half was an offensive barrage as the two teams combined for 18 shots.  The Rams broke through in the 25th minute when Kayla Austin netted her 8th goal of the season to give the visitors a 1-0 edge.  She would tally again nine minutes later, this time off a feed from Michaela Hyland to push out to a 2-0 edge. 

MCLA would slice into the lead just before halftime when Darien Sullivan knocked home a rebound off the foot of Natalie Caney to make it 2-1 at halftime.

In the second half, Framingham really took charge.  They outshot MCLA 7-0 in the half and pulled away with a pair of goals.  In the 70th minute, Taylor Ezold used an Austin feed to make it 3-1 and then Isabela DeSouza scored in the 87th minute to ice the victory.

Sara Sullivan stopped 5 shots to earn the win.  Kathryn Daly started in net for MCLA and absorbed the loss stopping 4 shots.  Danielle Heinsohn started the second half and recorded 3 saves.

MCLA is back in action on Wednesday.
