MCLA earns Bronze award for ethics from NSCAA

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Women's Soccer team has earned the Bronze Award for Ethics from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  The award recognizes program's from all divisions for accruing less than 10 cautions throughout the season.  The honor marks the 11th time in 14 years that the Trailblazer program has been recognized.

In all, 256 teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

A total of 159 teams claimed the Silver Award, which is given to teams that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards, while the Bronze Award went to 72 teams, which is presented to teams that receive no reds and a maximum of 10 yellows.

Gold: No cards accumulated during the season

Silver: No red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season

Bronze: No more than 10 cards accumulated during the season
