Women's Soccer tripped up on road at Smith 2-0

Northampton, MA- Host Smith College received a pair of first half goals and they controlled play as they defeated the MCLA women's soccer team 2-0 this afternoon in non conference action.  With the win, Smith improves to 2-1-1 while the Trailblazers fall to 1-3.

Smith outshot MCLA 25-6 on the afternoon and held a 6-1 edge in corners.  Smith scored in the sixth minute when Pamela Larkin scored off a corner kick for an early 1-0 advantage.  They would tally their second goal in the 27th minute when Innis Hitt knocked home a shot from 35 yards.  MCLA was outshot 15-3 over the opening 45 minutes.

Neither team scored in the closing half, however Smith still had the better of play as they took 10 shots to the Trailblazers 3.  Katy Daly made 7 saves on the afternoon in defeat for MCLA.

Smith's Camryn Biasin made three stops to earn the shutout victory.

MCLA will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Castleton at 4:30pm at Shewcraft Field.
