Women's Soccer blanked at home by Salem State 2-0
North Adams, MA- Salem State Ashley Leboeuf knocked home a pair of second half goals lifting the visiting Vikings past the MCLA Women's Soccer team 2-0 this afternoon in MASCAC action at Shewcraft Field. With the win, the Vikings improve to 2-6 overall and even their conference slate at 1-1. The Trailblazers drop to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in league play.
After a scoreless first half, Leboeuf broke the ice by scoring in the 73rd minute giving the Vikings a 1-0 lead. She would add the back breaker just seven minutes later, scoring again unassisted to push the lead to 2-0. Leboeuf is the only Viking to score this season.
Salem controlled most of the play outshooting MCLA 21-6 on the afternoon. The Trailblazers only had a single shot on net all day compared to 10 for the Vikings. Salem also owned a 6-1 edge in corners.
Rachel Ledbetter stopped the only shot she saw in earning her second win of the season.
Katy Daly stopped 8 shots in the loss for MCLA.
The Trailblazers are back in action next Saturday when they travel to Westfield State.
