BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Junior Jackie Dwyer's (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) goal in the 61st minute proved to be the game-winner and lifted MCLA to a 1-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Dwyer converted a feed from senior Darien Sullivan (Canajoharie, N.Y.) on the deciding tally for the visiting Trailblazers (3-10, 1-4 MASCAC), as her shot from the left side of the cage was her second marker of the season.  Junior Kathryn Daly (South Cairo, N.Y.) made that stand up in goal for MCLA, as she made three saves in wind-swept conditions to earn her third triumph and second shutout of the fall.

Senior Katie Levesque (Wilmot, N.H.) made 10 saves, including six in the opening 45 minutes of action, in the setback for the host Buccaneers (3-8, 0-4 MASCAC), as the Trailblazers outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 12-6 margin overall (11-3 on goal) and took three of the five corner kicks in the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Pine Manor in a non-league outing on Wednesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while MCLA will be idle until next Saturday, October 24th when the Trailblazers head to Fitchburg, Mass. to take on Fitchburg State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match that begins at Noon.
