(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team closed out the regular season portion of their schedule this evening as they shutout Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, 1-0 at Raider Field on a cold Tuesday evening. Rivier finishes 2015 with an overall record of 6-9-1 while MCLA falls to 3-11-1.

In the 66th minute, the Raiders were able to break the scoreless tie. Junior Megan Caron (Tyngsboro, Mass.) lifted a corner kick into the cluster of players where it found the foot of senior Paxton LaRocque (Londonderry, N.H.). LaRocque was able to redirect the ball past the Trailblazers goalkeeper for her seventh goal of the season.

Rivier sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Goodspeed (Merrimack, N.H.) made four saves for her fourth shutout of the season. Her counterpart, MCLA's Kathryn Daly, was successful on four of the five shots she saw on net.

The Raiders will now enter the post-season for the first time since 2006 when they travel to top seeded Lasell College on Saturday afternoon. Game time is scheduled for 1pm. MCLA will host Framingham State University on Saturday afternoon, beginning at 12pm.
