MCLA Women's Soccer drops regular season finale on senior day to Framingham 2-1

North Adams, MA-  The MCLA Women's Soccer team lost to conference opponent Framingham State 2-1 in the regular season finale for both teams.  A late second half goal by Framingham's Ashley Lees in the 87th minute was the difference maker.  MCLA Women's Soccer drops to 3-12-1 (1-5-1 MASCAC) for the season while Framingham improves to 10-5-2 (4-1-2 MASCAC).

The Rams will be the fourth seed in next week's MASCAC quarterfinals and will await their matchup.  MCLA will be the sixth seed in next week's championships and play on the road on Tuesday.

Marissa Miele for Framingham was first on the board in the 23rd minute of the game giving her team a 1-0 lead.  MCLA would rally back with a goal just five minutes later from Natalie Caney to tie the game going into half time assisted by Brittany Whitford.  In the second half, Framingham would take the lead with three minutes left in the game.  Marrisa Miele would cross the ball far post where Ashley Lees found net.  MCLA was unable to answer back.

K. Gagne-Lamoureaux would start in goal for Framingham giving up one goal while having 2 saves for the first half.  Sara Sullivan started for the Rams in the second half and would earn the with form Framingham while having only 1 save.  MCLA goalkeeper Kathryn Daly would play all 90 minutes for the Trailblazers having 5 saves while giving up 2 goals. 

Framingham took 20 shots during the match outshooting MCLA who had 5.  Framingham would also earn 6 corner kicks while MCLA took 1.

Prior to kickoff, MCLA honored five seniors playing their final home match.  They were Darien Sullivan, Jackie Dwyer, Tazia Johnson, Alexi Anderson, and Paige Fairman.
